Legally carrying a concealed firearm is one of the very best ways that you can protect yourself and the ones that you love. It is important that you take your right to carry very seriously, especially if you choose to conceal carry a firearm. If you choose to carry, you want to make sure that you are comfortable with the gun that is in your concealed holster. There are a few aspects of a concealed gun that you should look for. Concealable

There is a reason that not many people are trying to conceal a sawed-off shotgun, it is impossible to conceal. So, when you go to the gun shop make sure that you are looking at guns that you are going to be able to easily conceal. Look for a firearm that is thin, so you can place it anywhere on your person and it will not outline in your clothes. You will also want to look for a gun with a shorter barrel so it is easier to carry. You do sacrifice a little bit of accuracy with a shorter barrel, but you need to be able to conceal the gun properly.

Accuracy

Speaking of accuracy, you want to be able to hit what you are shooting at. Yes, you do sacrifice a little accuracy with a shorter barrel. However, you can get a high-grade competition barrel put in your firearm that will increase the accuracy. Take your gun to the range at least once a week and shoot. You want to train as much as possible with your conceal carry firearm. If you are ever in a  bad situation, you want to be able to pull the gun and eliminate any threat to you or your family. 

Reliability

Shoot and read about as many guns as you possibly can. If you are able, take the different guns that you are considering purchasing to the gun range. This will allow you to shoot the guns and get comfortable with them, but it will also allow you to test the guns for reliability. Be sure to take all sorts of different ammunition to the range with you. Test each firearm with the different rounds to ensure that the gun will fire a shell with any type of ammunition that you choose to protect yourself with.
