Vaporizing has emerged as a popular alternative to smoking traditional cigarettes. Unfortunately, there are many mistakes that individuals can make with these devices that could damage them or otherwise compromise their smoking experience. If you have recently purchased a vape kit, you may want to review some basic care steps.

1. Avoid Overcharging the Battery

The battery is one of the most essential components of your vape kit. While these batteries are designed to last for a while before they need to be charged, it is possible to overcharge them. This can damage the battery and cause its capacity to be greatly diminished. Most of these batteries will have a display or light that will indicate when the battery becomes fully charged, and you will want to immediately disconnect the battery from the charging terminal. The amount of time that this takes will vary based on the capacity of the battery, but it will usually only take a few hours.

2. Properly Store the Vape Liquid

Ensuring that your vape liquid is of the highest quality possible is another important factor in determining your vaping experience. Most containers of vape fluid are large enough to last for many weeks before they run out. Due to this, you will want to take extra care in storing these containers to avoid degrading the vape fluid. Ideally, these containers should be kept in a dark area that is fairly cool as intense heat and sunlight are among the factors that will degrade these fluids the quickest. If you notice that the taste of this fluid has changed in a substantial way since the last time that you used it, you may be well-served by replacing it with a fresh container of vape fluid as a sudden change in taste is a major indicator that the fluid has become compromised or otherwise suffered excessive degradation.

3. Clean the Mouthpiece When Refilling the Vaporizer

Regularly cleaning the mouthpiece is another essential task. Failing to keep the mouthpiece clean can cause you to experience a foul taste or difficulty drawing air through the unit when using the vaporizer. When cleaning the mouthpiece, you should remove it from the vaporizer and thoroughly wipe off its exterior and clean the interior of it with a cotton swab. If you notice that some of the residue is extremely difficult to remove, you may be able to loosen or dissolve it by soaking the cotton swab in rubbing alcohol. However, if you do this, make sure to thoroughly rinse off the mouthpiece to remove the rubbing alcohol before using it again.
